Sensory Kids Struggling With Socks?

Socks. Most of the time kids have to wear them. Oh, but what a struggle this can be for some kiddos. The texture, the tightness, the looseness, the seams on the toes!!!! AHHHH!!

Luckily, more and more companies are making socks with these issues in mind. And they won’t break the bank like they used to. If you haven’t tried specific socks with sensory issues in mind yet, check out these brands. Also, check out my other article on Sensory Friendly Clothing companies if you haven’t already!

1. Jefferies Socks

All of my kids have always loved Jefferies Socks. Whitney does not like girly, lacy, frilly, colored socks, so Jefferies Socks are perfect because they come in white and gray and white. They are thick for kids who like a thicker sock and the toe seam is on top of the toes instead of in the front. They comes in ankle and calf height. Give these a try!

2. SmartKnitKIDS Sensitivity Socks

Smart Knit sensitivity socks are truly seamless eliminating all lumps and bumps. They are form fitting so no more bunching and will not slip down from the ankle like other socks tend to do. The high-tech fiber wicks away moisture helping prevent stinky feet. They do come in a variety of colors for kids who like variation.

3. Rambutan Kids Bamboo Socks

If you haven’t tried bamboo clothing, I highly suggest you do at some point in your life. It is super soft, holds colors well in the wash, is naturally moisture wicking and cooling, but also holds body heat during cold days. Rambutan Kids Comfort Seam socks are also made from bamboo and provide a soft, seamless sock for kids.

4. Ex Sox Seamless Socks

Ez Sox makes cute, soft, seamless socks for kids who like to wear fun socks. They also come with loops on the top to help kids pull on their socks easier. They also provide anti-grip non-slip soles so your little one can safely run around!

5. Toe Socks

Some kids, like my daughter, really like the feeling of each toe being compressed. She also likes not feeling her skin between her toes rub against each other. That’s when we tried 5 Toe Socks and she loved them. There are many companies (non-sensory) that make 5 toe socks. They typically come in cute patterns, but also plain as well.

6. TeeHee Flip Flop Socks

Another option for kids (Whitney again…) who ONLY like the feeling of material between their big toes is TeeHee Flip Flop socks. Sometimes having the fabric between each toe is too much for her, so she wears flip flop socks. They come in a variety of colors, but also plain colors as well.
