831 21st St S, Arlington, VA 22202 Puppy Scam!!

Recently we have decided to get a puppy. My kids (and husband) have come a long way of being terrified of dogs, to somewhat liking them, to really really wanting one (thank you Zippy the rabbit).

So the search has begun….

If you have ever tried searching for an animal, it can be exhausting…both mentally and physically. You get your hopes up, then quickly dashed. Either the one you want is already sold, far away, or costs wayyyyy too much money.

So when I came across a random email address with a fairly quick response, I was super excited….and so were my kiddos.

I have since discovered this to be a SCAM and want to help others avoid this scam at all costs.

Here is the email address that responded to me: luisarogomez@gmail.com under the name Luisaro Gomez

I do not remember the exact website I found it. After Googling AND FaceBook searching the name and email and finding nothing, I began to get somewhat suspicious. I’m sure they use many different emails, but I hope to help someone else if they Google this email.

Here are some of the email responses I received:

I said “Do you have any Yorkiepoo puppies for sale? And where are you located? I am in Massachusetts and am having a difficult time finding a breeder or puppies.”

They said “Hi yes i still have the Yorkiepoo  puppies available now and am giving them out for a re-homing fee of $350 each  to any loving and caring home, so have you had puppies before? which of the puppies are you interested in getting so we can send you more photos?

The name” Yorkiepoo” was in a completely different font. The price….GREAT! So I responded about why I want a dog…blah blah blah…and they responded with this (which seems to be a theme from another website I found about them)

they are 10 weeks old now very friendly with good temperaments and been vet checked up till date  right now am in VA My address 831 21st St S, Arlington, VA 22202 so when can you make it here? or would you prefer we arrange for a home delivery to you at your address through a pet shipping agency so let us know which is best for you.

Notice the grammar and punctuation in these emails….lack of professional English and other suspicious things…. Also, this address is what they seem to use for everything….the email may change, but it seems the address is crucial.

They responded (before I even told them the city I was located in) that it would only cost $150 to ship to my door. From my previous research, this is a GREAT deal…hmmmm. They also quickly asked for my phone number….why? I don’t know, so I DID NOT give it to them, but kept asking questions (about the parents, is it potty trained, vaccinated….). It was vaccinated, which is typical, but everything else was very vague, or no response at all. Just a lot of “when do you want it shipped?”

The part about shipping also seems to be a theme. They were VERY pushy about shipping and when. They also didn’t state HOW they would receive payment, but that it would go through the shipping company. Weird. Here is what the emails state…. over and over and over again (asking for full name, address, phone number, and email address….I literally got 3 emails asking for this).

it will  cost $150 so the total will be $500 for everything and  if thats okay with you all you will have to do is to give me your full delivery information so i will prepare and take him to a pet shipping agency tomorrow for the delivery reservation when am done the delivery agency will notify you with the complete delivery details, arrival time, tracking number and also the payment directives so you can pay and they proceed.

These are the pictures they sent me as well. I’m hoping if anyone does a Google search for these images, they will quickly see this is a scam. I wanted a Yorkipoo, so these are the images they sent me for that type of dog.

Adorable right????? How can you not WANT one of these!!!

I asked about the last puppy and this was the response….which, by the way was the response for most other questions I asked….

yes he is very friendly with a great temperament  so when do you want the puppy?

I asked about their guarantee for the puppies survival of the trip. Of course they had the perfect answer….WITH “when do you want this???”

yes you have %100 percent guarantee it will cost $500 for everything and it will take about 7 to 8 hours for delivery to you if thats okay with you all you will have to do is to give me your full delivery information so i will prepare and take him to a pet shipping agency for the delivery reservation when am done the delivery agency will notify you with the complete delivery details, arrival time, tracking number and also the payment directives so you can pay and they proceed.

Pushy right?? Starting to get a bit suspicious, which is when I started my own Google and FaceBook search to come up with….nothing. So I asked for videos. No response. I have since sent three emails asking to video chat, offering FaceTime, FaceBook Messenger, or Skype. You guessed it. No response. So now, I’m extremely suspicious, and because I am an internet Guru at finding out anything about anyone, I really started digging in.

First off, the name DOES NOT exist ANYWHERE!! Nor does the EMAIL ADDRESS.

Second, the person who currently lives at this address (831 21st St S, Arlington, VA 22202) IS NOT this name, never has been this name, and does not have any relatives related to this name. (PS….it’s a beautiful home. If the current owners are reading this…”nice home!”)

Third, the above website about others having the same issue was a MAJOR tip off and the reason I wanted to use my website as a platform to hopefully help others. Please please share this article and stop these pathetic scammers!!!!

Now, if anyone has a male Yorkiepoo that looks like the puppy in the last photo, feel free to contact me!!! rachel@rachelsroost.com 🙂
